PR3512SE SERIES AMP (Special Edition) - 35 watts
The PR3512SE series is loosely based upon the original "AA1164", 1964 vintage Fender® Princeton Reverb® amplifier. We include point-to-point wiring, tube driven spring reverb, tube driven tremolo, two inputs, adjustable bias, and a vintage 12" Jensen AlNiCo P12Q speaker. Controls include Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble, Reverb, Tremolo Speed and Intensity and Master. Power output is 35 watts RMS. Tube complement includes a matched pair of 6L6GC's, 3 - 12AX7 preamp tubes and 1 - 12AT7 reverb driver tube. An adjustable bias control is included with two test jacks on the rear deck. A 5AR4 rectifier is also included to produce "pick sensitive" response and to allow for "sag" at higher volume levels. Cabinets are constructed of solid, finger jointed pine. This feature effectively reduces output to one quarter of stock power, and had no affect at all on the amp's tone. All models are black with/silver grill cloth, Snakeskin with Black grill or vintage Tweed with Oxblood grill.
NEW STANDARD VERSION (PR3512)
A cost conscious :"Standard" version of this same amp is also available. It contains the same circuitry, but eliminates some of the bells and whistles that are present in the full version PR. The Standard "PR" sports a smaller cab size, includes vintage blackface aesthetics, has 35-watts output, and includes Volume, Treble, Bass, Reverb, Intensity and Speed controls. We even includes four rolling casters. You get tube driven spring reverb, tube driven tremolo, two inputs, adjustable bias, and the same vintage 12" Jensen AlNiCo P12Q speaker as with the full version. The Standard "PR" eliminates the Fat/Boost, Mid and Master, yet still delivers a hefty dose of the "dripping with tone" signature that makes FireBelly unique.

TW1955SE AMP (Special Edition) - 6 watts
The predecessor to the "PR" amp is the "TWEED1955SE". Originally born in 1947, long before the days of the Blackface amps, this vintage "TV front" style amp is based upon the revised, 1955, 5F2-A circuit. The TWEED design uses a dual-triode 12AX7 for its pre-amp with a single ended, Class-A, 6V6GT power amp and pumps out a very solid 6 watts of clean output power into a "period correct", vintage Jensen AlNiCo P10R. Tubes are hand selected NOS (new old stock) and are chosen from vintage '50's and 60's stock. Tube compliment is 1-12AX7, 1-6V6GT and 1-5Y3GT rectifier. This amp is meticulously hand built with a "point-to-point" style wiring using a G10 Glass epoxy board. Components such as Sprague Atom filter capacitors, Orange Drop tone/coupling capacitors, carbon comp film tone resistors, metal oxide power resistors, Carling switches, and Switchcraft jacks are used throughout to maintain the best quality. The Tweed amp has been played in countless recordings and produces natural break-up and compression at reasonable volume levels. It's tight footprint and lighter weight make it an ideal choice for the musician who plays in smaller venues and wants a "go to" amp that will perform flawlessly every time.

OPTIONAL FEATURES FOR STUDIO/RECORDING VERSIONS OF THE PR, DL and VB
A brand new feature is now available for all production models that are intended to be used for recording and/or studio amps. This is our switchable, on-board Power Attenuator. This feature enables the amp's tone and volume controls to be set at just the right place to enter the "zone" while allowing the switching of a 6db Power Attenuator, thereby having the effect of reducing overall volume by up to 75% (-6db). By activating a toggle switch., overall volume can be cut to about one quarter of stock power without having any affect whatsoever on the amp's tone. This is a highly sought after feature and makes all three models perfect for studio recording as well as playing in smaller venues without compromising one drop of tone. This special feature adds enormous versatility to a line of amplifiers that are "dripping with tone". This feature can be added to all models for a nominal cost of $75.00 if installed during the initial building process.
A NOTE on CIRCUIT DESIGN
Three of the most popular "Blackface" era amps from the early 60's have been selected. They are the PR, DR, and VB series. Designs are loosely based upon the original "classic" schematics of the Fender® Princeton Reverb®, Deluxe Reverb®, and Vibrolux Reverb® amps. We use only the finest parts such as Mallory M-150 and Orange Drop and Silver-Mica capacitors in the tone stacks, CTS potentiometer, Carling switches, and other top quality components. Wherever possible, component and wiring layouts are similar to the original designs. We have enhanced many of the wiring runs and component selection in areas where we find noise and hum may have been introduced. We believe we have effectively turned back the clock by over 40-years with the production of these hand wired, boutique style originals that produce the sparkling tones that resulted in Blackface amps being so highly coveted. (Note: Standard models are based on the same circuit designs and are built with basic components.)
A WORD on BIAS SETTINGS
A properly set bias is similar to the setting of the idle of a your car engine. Just like the engine, there is an ideal range that makes your amp come "alive" and a range that just won't work. At FireBelly Amps we set the bias for an optimal balance between clean headroom and compression. We bias the Output Tubes at approximately 70% of their maximum plate dissipation ratings. This is an ideal setting for most applications and does not overly stress the output tubes. The correct bias setting will help your amp sound its best and find its perfect "sweet spot".
COMMENTS FROM SOME OF OUR CUSTOMERS
"...left a message at your office in an attempt to convey to you personally by phone how incredibly pleased I am with this amp....Aside from cosmetic flawlessness every aspect of its construction appears solid as a rock! The tone is beyond expectations and at idle it is as quiet as a mouse (very important for the kind of gigs I play). The verb is lush, but not overwhelming and responds to the level pot intuitively. The tonal adjustability is also amazing. How you can continue to make an amp of this quality at your price point is beyond me." Thanks again for everything, Steve!
Rick R., San Diego, California
"It sings! I am entirely IN LOVE with this amp! All the features work as expected . The tone is warm and wonderful. The tube break up is great. I’m on the edge of a mountain of vibe... I am in total and complete bliss. You build an INCREDIBLE amplifier! Thank you so much, again. This is the finest piece of equipment by far that I have ever owned...including guitars. I am ever grateful. The Panderers love, praise and endorse your fine Firebelly Amplifiers. A complete homerun my good man!
Scott Wynn, The Panderers, Moores Hill, IN
"I
found this amp
through an extensive search looking for an amp with a specific sound. The sound
of this amp takes me there. The sound quality, words cannot describe. Have you
ever gone to a recording studio and listened to a player and said "why can't I
get that sound quality, it must be magic" Mystery solved, your ears will be
stunned. Mine were. With this amp I hit the perfect low and in that moment just
before I hit the high I say to myself its not going to get there but, it does
and I'm just in awe. It will do this up and down the volume dial + master
volume dial to make those tubes hum warm fuzzies.
The low end is just incredible".
Steven J., Sunrise Beach, MO
"It was a pleasure doing business with Steven. He took all my calls and helped me decide on speakers and other options. He is very passionate about his amps and it shows in the finished product...I'm glad to have found FireBelly amps when I did"
John W., Ardmore, PA
